The Scout Committee exists to support the Scout Leaders in delivering the programme of activities, maintaining property and interacting with the parents and local community. The Scout Association provides a framework for Scouting, but it is up to the local parents and leaders to make it happen! None of our leaders or committee members are paid for what they do.
The Scout Committee is comprised of the Group Scout Leader, Section Leaders and elected parents. All Scout Leaders are encouraged to attend the monthly meeting, which generally takes place on the first Monday of the month.
The agenda varies according to circumstances but recurring topics include:
- Group and District Scouting Activities
- Membership and leader recruitment
- Communications
- Property
- Finance
- Fundraising
- Safety, child protection & training
We are keen that membership of the committee should not be static and encourage parents to get involved.
