Our Gallery
After careful consideration of what is going on with other extra -curricular activities in the area we are closing all sections of Hillsborough Scout Group, Hillsborough Squirrel Drey And Hillsborough Scout Archery Group until further notice.
We hope that this social distancing will help to protect some of the most vulnerable in our society.
In the meantime, stay safe and healthy during this unprecedented time and we look forward to restarting sections once things have returned to some sort of normality.

The Leaders and Committee
1st Hillsborough Scouts and 1st Hillsborough Squirrel Drey
Hillsborough Scout Group and Hillsborough Squirrel Drey take the Health and Safety of all our members very seriously hence have been monitoring the ongoing Covid-19 situation.
The group will continue to follow advice from the Public Health Agency (PHA) and implement it accordingly. We would also like to remind parents and leaders that if someone is unwell, for whatever reason, they should stay away and inform the section leader that they will not be attending.
We would further ask that if someone in your family is showing symptoms of Covid-19 and essentially if they have a positive diagnosis that you immediately advise Anne Thompson (Group Chair) on 07740 675338, or Catherine Rogers (Group Secretary) on 07709 793641, of the situation, so that appropriate steps can be taken to safeguard other members.
We would encourage parents not to panic, but to make informed decisions for the well-being of their own family.
As a result of discussion in the groups executive, for the moment, it was decided to put out the above advice and to confirm that all sections WILL continue to meet until one of the following: –

Registration for all sections of 1st Hillsborough Scout Group will take place at Hillsborough Scout & Community Hall on Monday 2nd September 2019 between 19:00 and 20:00. Parents will be emailed the registration form in advance. We would appreciate it if forms could be filled out prior to the registration evening as we have 220+ members to register … it will be busy that evening!
For those on our waiting list who have not received the offer of a place, you will remain on the waiting list. We regret that we cannot offer a place to everyone, but demand is far exceeding available spaces.
The waiting list at 1st Hillsborough Scout Group is now frozen, while we make offers of places for September 2019. There are more kids on the waiting list for each section than available places, so unfortunately not everyone will get a place. Leaders’ kids have top priority, then children who have brothers or sisters currently in the Scout Group. We will be in touch with all parents who have children on the waiting list in the coming weeks. Places in Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and Explorers are extremely scarce this year – you may wish to consider contacting other scout groups in the area.
We all love to hate AGMs, don’t we? It’s a pity, because really it should be about acknowledging a lot a good stuff that has been achieved. Here is our story for 2017/2018 … 1st hillsborough scouts and squirrels agms 7jan19
Registration for membership of 1st Hillsborough Scouts for 2018/2019 will take place on Monday 3rd September, 7-8pm, at our hall. Registration is open only to existing members and to joiners from the waiting list who have been offered places. Registration forms will be emailed to parents by 31st August; we have 200+ members to register so it would be appreciated if parents could fill out forms in advance.
Our Scout Group has been growing very rapidly. There’s lots happening. We could still do with some more volunteers for September 2018 to help particularly with Beavers (6-8 years) through to Explorers (14-18). We’re flexible: with enough leaders, we can cover when people can’t be there. Volunteering is satisfying and fun. You’ll make new friends. Leaders’ kids are guaranteed places in the Scout Group.
